Motorway Charging Points for Electric Cars

Electric cars could now make longer journeys it seems with the introduction of new motorway charge points. With a range of about 100 miles electric vehicles have struggled to sell in great amounts as this means they can only really be used for short journeys around towns and cities – it means users avoid motorways. Another problem electric vehicle owners face is that conventional charging points can take up to several hours to charge the vehicles and give them enough power to run. Who wants to wait a few hours before they can drive to their next meeting? The numbers are probably low!

However, manufacturers have now taken this issue into account and may have found a solution. All over the country a network of charging points are to be installed at motorway service stations. The winning factor is that these charging points only take 15 minutes to recharge an electric vehicle, just enough time for a cup of tea and a cake and then you’re back on the road again! Sounds good doesn’t it?

At RunYourFleet we really hope this is the turning point for the sale of electric cars, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
